The
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) of Negros
Occidental launched TESDA Spesyalista Technopreneurship Program in the province.
In cooperation with the local governments of the province, the program has five
(5) civic-based service aggrupations which will cater technical and mechanical services
to the households and immediate communities. The operation includes House
Repair and Maintenance, Beauty and Wellness, Automotive and Small Engine
Repair/Trouble Shooting, Appliance Repair, and Catering/Food and Beverage
services. As part of the requirements, Spesyalista must be a TESDA National
Certificate Holder II (NC II) and at least 18 years of age.
The agency hired nurturer who is
tasked to identify and coordinate with partners for the support and assistance
required in the implementation of the TSTP, search for and identify the TESDA
Spesyalista that will compose the aggrupation, organize the aggrupations,
orient the Spesyalista and provide appropriate advice that will strengthen the
values, develop and introduce simple and practical methodologies in managing
their self-employment or enterprise endeavors.
TESDA
Provincial Director Lorena T. Yunque believed that the essential component of
the program is skills development, which will nurture the skills of the
beneficiaries who will undergo training on ICT, technical, as well as,
entrepreneurship skills to equip and integrate them with business aptitude.
This program will create
decent jobs, develop team work, demonstrates excellence in service delivery,
organize a nurturing community and develop values and behavior. The official
launching of all aggrupations is anticipated to be formalized by this month of
February 2012 in the said province.
